Download Quran Caption
Quran Caption is available for multiple platforms. Choose the appropriate version for your operating system:
🔄 Software Updates
Important: When updating Quran Caption, your data and projects are always preserved, even if the installer asks for permission to uninstall the previous version. All your data remains safe during the update process.
Installation Instructions
🖥️ Windows Installation
- Download the QuranCaption.Windows.exe file from the GitHub releases page
- Double-click the downloaded .exe file to launch the installer
- Note: It's normal if Windows shows a "Windows protected your PC" message since the software isn't digitally signed. Simply click "More info" then "Run anyway"
- Follow the installation wizard by clicking "Next" through the steps
- Complete the installation process
- Launch Quran Caption from the desktop shortcut or start menu
🍎 macOS Installation
- Download the appropriate .dmg file for your Mac:
- QuranCaption.MacOS.dmg for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)
- QuranCaption.MacOS.Intel.dmg for Intel processors
- Double-click the .dmg file to mount the disk image
- Drag the Quran Caption app to your Applications folder
- Eject the disk image by right-clicking it and selecting "Eject"
- Navigate to Applications and double-click Quran Caption to launch it
- If prompted by macOS security (Gatekeeper), go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy and click "Open Anyway", or hold Control while clicking the app and select "Open"
🐧 Linux Installation
Option 1: AppImage (Universal)
- Download the QuranCaption.Linux.AppImage file
- Make the AppImage executable:
chmod +x QuranCaption.Linux.AppImage - Run the application:
./QuranCaption.Linux.AppImage
Option 2: Debian Package (.deb)
- Download the QuranCaption.Linux.deb file
- Install using dpkg:
sudo dpkg -i QuranCaption.Linux.deb - If there are dependency issues, fix them with:
sudo apt-get install -f - Launch from the applications menu or run
qurancaptionin terminal
⚠️ Troubleshooting Installation
Windows: If you see "Windows protected your PC", click "More info" then "Run anyway". This is normal for unsigned software.
macOS: If the app won't open due to security restrictions, try holding Control while clicking the app and select "Open", or go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy.
Linux: For AppImage, ensure you have execution permissions. For .deb packages, make sure you have administrator privileges.
First Launch
When you first launch Quran Caption, you'll see the welcome screen with options to:
- Create a new project
- Import a project
If you had Quran Caption 2 installed, your existing projects will be automatically detected and you will be asked if you want to import them into Quran Caption 3.

Congratulations! Quran Caption is now installed and ready to use. Continue to Getting Started to create your first project.
